Ask Marie to archive a group

Marie is the built-in assistant. Instead of opening the groups screen and editing a class by hand, you can tell Marie to archive it in one sentence. Marie runs the exact same action the groups screen does, so the timetable, the hours and the lists all update together.

Who can do this

Archiving a group is a direction and admin-staff action (owner or admin/teaching staff). Students and parents/guardians never see Marie, and Marie will not expose the archive action to them. This mirrors the permissions on the groups screen itself.

How to ask

Open Marie from the assistant button, then type the request the way you would say it. Any of these work:

  • “Archive the group 3ème B.”
  • “Put the CP1 class in the archives.”
  • “Archive group 102.”

Name the group or give its number. Marie confirms once the group is archived.

What archiving does

Archiving is not deleting. The group and its history stay in the database. What changes:

  • The group disappears from the timetable — its calendar is turned off, so it no longer shows up in the planning views.
  • The group moves into the Archives section of the groups screen instead of the active list.
  • People who are only in that archived group drop out of the working lists, the same way archiving handles them on screen.

You can bring a group back later by editing it on the groups screen and switching the archive toggle off.

Marie handles the whole group update, not only archiving. You can also ask her to:

  • Un-archive a group (“Take 3ème B out of the archives”).
  • Hide or show a group in the timetable without archiving it.
  • Rename a group or change its colour.
