Unblock a student’s access with Marie
Marie, the assistant built into Popinz, can now diagnose and unblock an account. You no longer have to open the database or wait for support: you ask the question, she reads the real state of the account and offers you the fixes.
Ask for the diagnosis
Just describe what is happening, naming the person:
“Lilou Bernard can no longer sign in, can you take a look?”
Marie then reads the real state of the account: whether it is active, whether a password is set, whether the person is attached to an active group, the date of the last successful sign-in and the recorded failures, recent reset requests, and how many evaluations are attached.
She answers in plain language: the likely cause, backed by the values she has just read, then several possible fixes with the conditions for each one.
Perform the unblock
Three actions are available, and none of them erases anything:
- Resend a reset link — replays the “forgot password” flow. The link is valid for 15 minutes and can be used once. Marie never displays it: it is sent by email to the person concerned.
- Send an activation invitation — refused if a password already exists, exactly like the regular invitation screen.
- Set a temporary password — to be passed on in person. No email is sent, and the sign-in address stays the same.
What Marie will never do
She does not delete an account, does not recreate one, and does not change the sign-in address. She only acts inside your school, with administrator rights, and every action leaves a trace in the access logs.
When the password is not the problem
If the diagnosis shows nothing wrong with the account, the cause is often elsewhere: a reset link that never arrives, or a sign-in address typed differently. Marie tells you that too, and what to check next.
